Royal Mail say they are certainly not looking to replace the great work their postmen and postwomen do. Trialling drones is an exciting opportunity to test out new ways of working to those workers who deliver standard and advertising mail to some of the most remote areas of the UK.
Some of the houses on the Isle of Mull, and of course other islands around the UK, include a thirty-minute walk to the front door for post men and women so the use of drones could help greatly in these areas. Incorporating innovative technologies into the mailing network can be a reliable and cost-effective way to deliver mail to remote areas but will it work on a wider basis with advertising and marketing mail?

Due to changes forced by the COVID virus there was a huge increase in parcel volumes in 2020 that looks to continue, and this is just one new way to support the frontline delivery staff and enable them to deliver fast, convenient and green services for customers. Perhaps the future for mailing houses like 05 Direct Mail is going to be a more hi-tech affair.
