Royal Mail announce more ‘Green’ vehicles for mail delivery and is in the process of partnering with London Electric Vehicle Company to trial a new VN5 prototype electric van. It is based on a typical London taxi cab and will initially be utilised for both parcel and letter delivery. The electric vehicle scheme is fully endorsed by mailing companies like 05 Direct Mail Ltd in the pursuit of a cleaner and more energy efficient marketing system in the UK.
Royal Mail’s integration of electric vehicles into its fleet is already well under way and this prototype is the latest addition. More widely introduced, the cabs will complement the existing 295 electric van fleet. This will be a key part of Royal Mail’s program of low or zero-emission vehicle trials and will help test the suitability of alternative vehicles and fuels. Marketing and Advertising companies are fully supportive of this move to a greener way of delivering their direct mail campaigns.
